**워터마크**란?

어떤 파일에 관한 저작권 정보 등을 식별할 수 있도록 **디지털 이미지나 오디오 및 비디오 파일에 삽입한 비트 패턴**을 의미합니다 :) 

디지털 형식으로 된 지적 재산권을 보호하기 위해서 삽입하는 **디지털 낙관**으로서, \
사용자들이 정보를 불법 복제해 정당한 대가나 허락 없이 상업용 혹은 기타 용도로 사용했을 때 원 소유자는 **자신의 워터마크를 추출함으로써 자신의 소유임을 밝힐 수 있습니다.** 

워터마크를 할 경우 흐린 바탕무늬나 로고와 같은 마크가 **디지털 이미지 원본에 삽입**되기 때문에 **사용자가 이미지를 보거나 소프트웨어를 사용하는데 전혀 지장을 주지 않으면서도 복제를 방지**할 수 있습니다.
